Tomorrow (perhaps even tonight) I will be starting yet another project, another knit-a-long as a matter of fact! Savannahchick is hosting the River-a-long based on River from Rowan 38. The pattern calls for Kidsilk Haze(KSH), a delicious mohair/silk blend which is deceptively strong and ethereally light. It takes some getting used to, and I can't say that I'm there yet. I take comfort in knowing that others have felt the same way, and I'll keep at it until it feels right or I toss the whole tangled knotted mess into the garbage disposal. I do hope it will feel right, as KSH is rather expensive. And I don't have a garbage disposal. Mohair down these 90-yr old pipes would be a bad bad thing, and I would definitely be angry at myself for knowing how many skeins of KSH I could have bought with the money I'd be paying the plumber.
***back to reality, Audrey***
The article linked above gives a description of KSH and at the end pays this unique yarn the respect it deserves. Do read it - it made me appreciate what I'm working with.
And now I'm off to do some organizing. And roasting some garlic for dinner tonight, which will include said roasted garlic along with olive oil and yummy crusty bread as an appetizer. Did you hear that, Superchicabonita? Yep. Gonna be some good eats tonight.
