And you thought I'd let the year go out with nary a peep? Nope. :)
Life is busy. Life is good. Life is changing.
We've recently returned from a trip to Myrtle Beach, SC. We drove. We likely won't do that again. Maybe we will in warm, un-snowy weather....but it's just a maybe. It should take about 13 hours nonstop. On the way down, it took 20 hours. Nonstop. We caught the snowstorm that hit Maryland/DC hard a few weeks ago, and in 6 hours of travel we made *almost* 1 hour of progress, according to the GPS. A friend advised us that at that point we should have turned it off! Well and true, but then how would we get there?
We stayed at Dunes Village which was such a hit with the kids (Maddy and Mom's hubby's two teen boys). The prices are remarkably low for the off season, and it was such a wonderful thing to have a built-in water park. Maddy slept soundly every day, for both nap time and bed time. It was a beautiful thing!
Here is a video of Maddy being a brave 3 yr old and going down the BIG waterslide 'all mybyself'. Sure it's a lousy one, but still - look! - video on this blog! That's a first!
More to come in 2010, but for now I leave you with a happy giggling girl who wants to ride the waterslide again!
